Number 4 - Read Ten Classic Books
Apr. 12th, 2011 10:46 pmA pretty straight-forward goal: I want to read at least ten "classic" novels throughout the course of the challenge. This number may keep going if I read more than ten, which is likely, but for now I've picked an easy number.
A good list of classic literature can be found here which will probably be a good source of ideas when I begin picking the books that I'd like to read. However, I'm using my own discretion here - I think that I've spent enough time studying literature as an English major that I can decide what would be considered classic well enough for the purposes of this task. If I, for whatever reason, pick a novel and then find myself utterly incapable of finishing it, it doesn't count for the list. The book has to be read to its completion and if I give up I have to cross it off the list and pick another.
Italicized books are ones that I have put on the list but haven't actually read yet. Books written normally are ones that I have finished. Total: 0/10
1. Ulysses by James Joyce
